Visit the ancient capitals most famous sites! This one-day tour takes you across Kyoto to world-renowned temples, shrines, and palaces like Nijo Castle, Sanjusangendo, Kiyomizu Temple, and more. With transportation, guide, and lunch included, this tour makes planning your Kyoto day trip a breeze!

Day 1: Kyoto

7:45 - 8:35 a.m.

Pick up service is available at hotels in Kyoto. (See pick up service page.)

 

After assembling at New Miyako Hotel, you'll join a whole day tour of Kyoto.

You will enjoy visiting the follwong places:

* Nijo Castle (UNESCO World Heritage site)

- It was built in 1603 as Kyoto residence of the Ieyasu Tokugawa, the fast shogun of the edo government. ***On Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead.

* Kinkakuji Temple (UNESCO World Heritage site)
- It is a famous structure of Muromachi period. Kinkakuji means golden pavilion and literally it is covered by gold.

* Kyoto Imperial Palace
- It had been served as the Emperor’s palace until the capital was moved to Tokyo. ***On Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays, we'll takeyou Kitano-tenmangu Shrine instead.


Lunch : Japanese-style lunch

 

After the lunch, you'll continue to enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto.

* Heian Jingu Shrine
- It was built to commemorate the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto in 1895.

* Sanjusangendo Temple
- The temple is designed as a national treasure with 1,030 standing Buddhist statues in its main hall.

* Kiyomizudera Temple (UNESCO World Heritage site)
- The temple is famous for its main hall on the cliff top with a board wooden veranda and a panoramic view of Kyoto city.

 

5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

You'll arrive back at hotel in Kyoto. Drop-off service is available.

Groups of Japanese guests over five people will not be allowed to enter the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Please inform us of this when booking if your group is applicable.

≪Morning part≫

-As Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on the following dates, tours on these dates will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. 

(Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, May 14-17 for the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event).

-Nishi Hongwanji Temple will be visited on Sep.25 and Dec.25 instead of Kitano-tenmangu Shrine.

-Nijo Castle is closed on every Tuesday in January, July, August, December and the year end.  During these dates, the tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead.

-Before entering Kyoto Imperial Palace, it is required to complete a form indicating full name, nationality, gender, and age.

≪Afternoon part≫

-Chishaku Temple will be visited when Heian Jingu Shrine is closed to Jidai Festival on October 22nd.  If the festival is postponed, changes in the itinerary may also be postponed.

-Drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, Hotel Nikko Princes Kyoto, and Hotel Monterey Kyoto cannot be provided during Gion Festival (July 14-16) due to traffic restrictions.

-Connections to Kyoto Maiko Dinner is available at New Miyako Hotel or Kiyomizu-dera Temple's bus parking lot.

-Connections to the Kyoto Night Tour is available at Kyoto Hotel Okura or Kiyomizu-dera Temple's bus parking lot.

-Areas requiring admission fee at Heian Jingu Shrine will not be visited.

If notice of cancellation is received on tour starting date, or in case of failure to show without notice 100% of the tour fare, 1 day prior to the starting date of the tour 40%, 7 to 2 days prior, 30%, 8 days or more days prior, no charge.
