Day 1: Sep 18 (Fri) Honolulu ~ Portland

1:00 PM    Depart for Phoenix on Hawaiian Airlines flight HA 26. Meal served on the flight.
9:30 PM    Arrive at Portland International Airport (consistently ranked as one of the top airports in the world) and pick up luggage, then transfer to our hotel in Portland by hotel shuttle bus. Our hotel is just a few minutes from the airport, in the midst of the Cascade Station shopping complex, surrounded by restaurants and shopping – check out the nearby Ikea! It is also directly adjacent to the MAX Light Rail Cascade Station, making all of downtown Portland easily accessible.

Accommodations at Hyatt Place Portland Airport or similar

Day 2: Sep 19 (Sat) Eugene – UH vs Oregon Ducks Game Day! (B)

Buffet breakfast at hotel. The Ducks won their first four straight games against UH from 1921 through 1969, but have dropped the last three meetings in 1988, 1992 and 1994 – giving them the series so far, four to three. Here’s your chance to cheer UH into the lead! (time TBA)
Transfer roundtrip to Eugene by chartered coach (about 2 hours). Join the pre-game tailgate party at the “Mo” – the “Moshofsky Center” directly behind Autzen Stadium (which is consistently ranked among the nation's top 10 venues to watch a college football game). On days in which the Ducks' football team is playing next door in Autzen Stadium, the Moshofsky Sports Center is converted into one of the largest indoor tailgate gatherings in the country. The building can hold up to 5,000 football fans before and after each home game. Ducks fans form a gauntlet as the Oregon football team and its coaching staff, dressed in game-day-best jackets and ties, pass through on their way to the locker room. (Mo Center doors open three hours before kickoff, a full 90 minutes before fans are allowed into Autzen Stadium.) The "March to Victory" parade is punctuated by an appearance by the Oregon marching band. With game ticket we will be able to move freely between the Mo and the stadium - the party and the game roll on simultaneously (Mo Center service stops at the end of the third quarter).

Accommodations at Hyatt Place Portland Airport or similar

Day 3: Sep 20 (Sun) Free Day

Buffet breakfast at hotel. Enjoy a free day in Portland, in Portland, whose unofficial slogan “Keep Portland Weird” is a tribute to the individuality, expressionism, art and atypical lifestyle choices of the local residents. Our hotel is conveniently located near the MAX Light Rail Cascade station (direct to Pioneer Square, $5 for a day pass). If you’d like to get an overview of the city then the Pink Trolley Sightseeing Tour hop-on-hop-off pass features 13 stops through downtown Portland with a narrated tour and includes stops at Voodoo Donuts and free entrance to the International Rose Test Garden (Stop #3) and the Hoyt Arboretum (Stop #5).
