Korea is spectacular in the fall, and we'll visit some of the most popular fall foliage spots in the country. We'll also get to experience apple picking in Daegu - Korea's "Apple City" and Bibimbap making in Jeonju, the birthplace of Bibimbap.

Day 1: Oct 19 (Wed) Honolulu – Seoul


11:50 AM Depart for Incheon on Asiana Airlines flight OZ 231, meal and snack served on the flight. Asiana Airlines was recognized as the first environmentally friendly company within the service industry by the South Korean Ministry of the Environment. It was named the best airline in the world by Skytrax in 2010 and has been recognized as a 5-Star Airline by Skytrax for quality since 2007. It has also been awarded the Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating for airline health, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.

Day 2: Oct 20 (Thu) Arrival Day: Seoul (D)


5:10 PM Arrive at Incheon International Airport. After immigration claim your luggage and wait for your tour escort before exchanging currency and exiting customs. Meet our guide and transfer to our Seoul hotel, dinner at local restaurant.

Day 3: Oct 21 (Fri) Korea, the Land of Morning Calm (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Today’s trip through Gapyeong County takes us to K-Drama locations used in Endless Love: Winter Sonata, My Love from the Star, I am Not a Robot and more. The name of the Garden of Morning Calm, which houses more than 5,000 varieties of plants, originated with the Indian poet Rabindranāth Tagore, who called Korea the “Land of Morning Calm”. Then on to Nami Island, certified as a UNICEF Child Friendly Park. Nami Island is also known as the Naminara Republic for its unique and original cultural and artistic atmosphere. Our final stop before preceding to the Mt. Seorak area will be at Petite France, a slice of Europe in Korea that was inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novel Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince). Head out to Mt. Seorak and Korea’s most popular national park.

Day 4: Oct 22 (Sat) Mt. Seorak, the Backbone of Korea (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Depart for sightseeing with guide by a chartered bus - enter Seorak National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Protection site, and ascend over Sinheungsa Temple and the Great Unification Budda to the traces of Gwongeumseong Fortress by cable car for one of the best views of the famous Ulsanbawi rock formations. Visit the local fishing town of Daepohang Port, on the southernmost point of Sokcho before heading on to Daegu, known as “Apple City” because the area’s famous apple orchards. Enjoy shopping and exploring on Dongsungro and Seomun local market streets before dinner.

Day 5: Oct 23 (Sun) Hahoe Folk Village – Mt. Juwangsan – Apple Picking (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch and dinner at local restaurants. This morning we will make a stop for apple picking at Guam Farm Stay Village before heading to Andong, the center of the Confucian culture in Korea, for a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Hahoe Folk Village. Descendants of the Ryu clan of Pungsan still live here in Joseon Dynasty traditional houses today. The village became even more famous after Queen Elizabeth of England visited on April 21, 1999. After lunch proceed to Mt. Juwang, regarded as one of the top three rocky mountains in Korea and a local favorite for viewing the autumn colors along the Jubang Valley Trail.
After we check into our lakefront hotel you may want to take a stroll around Bomun Lake, chosen as a “must-see beautiful place in Korea” by CNN Go.

Day 6: Oct 24 (Mon) Gyeongju, Ancient Capitol of Silla – the Museum Without Walls (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Depart for sightseeing with guide by a chartered bus for Gyeongju, the ancient capital of Korea and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sometimes called the “Museum Without Walls”. Explore the Silla period at the Gyeongju National Museum, featuring Asia's largest bell, the bronze Divine Bell of King Seongdeok – also called the “Emile” ("mommy”) bell. Visit the ancient tombs in Tumuli Park and enter Cheonmachong (the “Heavenly Horse Tomb”). Later, we will visit the Bulguksa Temple, which was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO and is classified as Historic and Scenic Site No. 1 by the South Korean government.

Day 7: Oct 25 (Thu) Busan, UNESCO Creative City of Film (B, L)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant, dinner on your own. Depart for Busan and sightseeing with guide by a chartered bus. Visit Jagalchi Market, Korea's largest seafood market, where most of the fish sellers are “ajumma” – middle aged Korean women. Enjoy shopping in this huge shopping area that includes BIFF Square (named for the Busan International Film Festival), the traditional Gukje Market and the Gwangbok-dong and Nampo-dong markets.

Day 8: Oct 26 (Wed) Jeonju, the Birthplace of Bibimbap (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, and then depart with guide by a chartered bus for Jeonju - the birthplace of bibimbap, a designated UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and a part of Cittaslow (the international network of Slow Cities). Visit the Jeonju Hanok Village for Hanbok wearing and a bibimbap making experience – make your own traditional lunch! See the scenic view from the Omokdae Pavillion and then visit the Jeonju Traditional Hanji Center for a glimpse of Korean traditional paper making. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 9: Oct 27 (Thu) Buyeo – Ancient Capitol of the Baekje Kingdom (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch dinner at local restaurants. Today we will get a glimpse at life in the ancient Baekje Kingdom with a visit to Baekje Cultural Land, the largest historical cultural park in Korea, and learn more of the history at the Buyeo National Museum. We will also enjoy shopping at Lotte Outlet Buyeo Branch, 17,000 square meters of outlet shopping, local specialty stores and restaurants.

Day 10: Oct 28 (Fri) Seoul – DMZ – Korean War Memorial (B, L, D)


Breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant, included dinner cruise.
Depart with guide by a chartered bus. Starting from Imjingak Park, located 7 km from the Military Demarcation Line, visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the most heavily armed border in the world. Get a view of North Korea from the Dora Observatory, the nearest point to North Korea from South Korea, and descend into the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, an underground tunnel designed to launch a surprise attack on Seoul. After lunch visit the War Memorial of Korea, a memorial and museum built to remember the Korean War, and the largest war memorial in the world. 
In the evening we’ll view the glorious skyline of Seoul from the Han River on our evening dinner cruise – Saturday night is fireworks night!

Day 11: Oct 29 (Sat) Seoul – Palaces and Shopping (B, L)


Breakfast at hotel, Lunch at local restaurant. Depart with guide by a chartered bus. In the morning visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main palace of the five-hundred-year Joseon Dynasty, with a stop at the National Folk Museum located on the grounds of the palace. Lunch on your own and shopping at Gwanjang Market, one of Seoul’s largest traditional markets, then back to Myeongdong for more shopping and a stop at the 8 story Myeongdong Daiso mega-store. Return to hotel, dinner on your own.

Day 12: Oct 30 (Sun) Departure Day: Seoul – Honolulu (B, L)


Buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant and dinner on your own. Depart with guide by a chartered bus to the HYBE INSIGHT, a museum and cultural complex where HYBE's goals of transmitting emotion through music, sharing good influences and making changes in life under their mission of "We believe in Music" are combined. Stop at a Lotte Mart on the way to the airport for lunch and last-minute shopping.
8:20 PM Depart for Honolulu on Asiana Airlines flight OZ 232, meal and snack served on the flight.

1.

Deposit and Final Payment:

A $300.00 deposit per person will be required at the time of booking. Deposit is fully refundable until 100 days prior to departure.
The remaining balance is due 100 days prior to departure or at time of booking if reservation is made less than 100 days prior to departure.
If remaining balance of payment is not made within the above-required period JTB USA, Inc. reserves the right to cancel reservations.

2.

Cancellations and Changing Fees:  (Please read very carefully)

Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed bookings:

Up to 101 days prior to departure No penalty
From 100 days prior to departure: $300 deposit is non-refundable
August 12th ~ September 10th 2022: 75% of the total tour fee 
September 11th 2022 ~: 100% of the total tour fee
 
Airline tickets are non-refundable after issue. Other additional individual arrangements may not be refundable. Please check with our travel agents.
 

3.

Participation:

For the benefit of everyone in your tour group, JTB USA, Inc. reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant, and to remove from the tour any participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the other participants.

We require a minimum of 10 participants to guarantee the tour.

JTB USA, Inc. will notify participants of any changes by 100 days prior to departure.

We regret that our escorted tours will operate only when booked by a sufficient number of participants. We reserve the right to cancel any departure date that has insufficient  demand. 

** There may be a possibility of operating tours with less than 10 participants, but changes to price and itinerary may become necessary.

Responsibility:

The tour participant agrees that neither JTB USA, Inc. nor its affiliates shall be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss) or expense occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier providing services, or any insurer or insurance administrator under the Travel Protection Plan, or of any other person, or any other situations beyond the control of JTB USA, Inc., including weather, natural disaster, war, civil unrest, and order of government or immigration regulations.

Land Only:

If you purchase this package as LAND ONLY please be aware that the Land Only designation includes hotels/meals/and sightseeing only. International and domestic air flights as well as transportation to/from airports are not included.
