Sunrise Combination Tours combine our popular day and overnight tours to create longer packages to meet your Japan sightseeing needs, including airport pick-up/drop-off, accommodations, transportation, and guide service. This 9-day package takes you sightseeing in Tokyo, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara and Hiroshima.

Day 1: Arrival: Tokyo


After arrival in Narita airport, JTB staff will meet you at the customs exit and assist you in boarding a reserved taxi. Then you will go to a hotel in Tokyo.

Day 2: Tokyo - Kamakura - Tokyo


7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo. (See the detail on "Pick up" page.)

After assembling at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal, we'll take you to Kamakura by motor coach.

Then you'll enjoy sightseeing the following places:

Great Buddha / Kotoku-in Temple

- It is designated as a national treasure and is the largest Buddhist image in Japan after the one in Todaiji in Nara. The original image was carved from wood in 1243.

Hase Kannon Temple

- It is the Japanese largest wooden sculpture, standing about 9.18m in height and having eleven-faces.

* Tsurugaoka Hachimangu

- It is a shrine dedicated to Emperor Oji and popularly believed as the guardian of warriors.

After sightseeing, you'll proceed to Yokohama China Town to enjoy lunch.

 

Lunch: Chinese-style at Yokohama China Town (2014)
              Japanese-style (2015)

 

After lunch, you'll visit Sankei-en Garden and Yokohama Baybridge (drive through).

 

5:00 - 6:40 p.m.

The tour will disembark at either Shinjuku or Ginza.

 

Day 3: Tokyo


7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo. (See the detail on "Pick up".)

 

Leave Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and visit the following places by bus.

Tokyo Tower
-Climb to the main observatory 145 m (476 ft) high for a panoramic view from Japan's second tallest artificial structure.

Imperial Palace Plaza
-Make a short stop at the official residence of the Emperor of Japan, who is regarded as the highest authority in the Shinto religion as Japanese mythology states he is a direct descendant of Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun.

Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Acade
- The arcade is a 300m approach to the temple. You can enjoy shopping and taking picture in front of a famous lantern lamp named Kaminarimon.

* Ueno (drive by)

 

12:30 - 12:50 p.m. 

Tour will conclude upon arrival at  Akihabara  or Tokyo Station.

 

 

Day 4: Tokyo - Mt.Fuji - Hakone


7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo. (See the detail on "Pick up" page.)

After assembling at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal, we'll take you to Hakone by motorcoach.

You'll visit Fuji Visitor Center and Mt. Fuji 5th Station in the morning.

*Mt. Fuji - The mountain is the highest (3,776m) and most popular mountain in Japan. The volcano has not been active for more than 250 years.

 

Lunch: Japanese-style

 

After lunch, we'll take you to Kojiri and you'll enjoy the following places:

*Lake Ashi Cruise - The lake is a typical caldera lake formed between the outer crater ridge and inner volcanoes. It is a cruise around the beautiful lake.

*Mt. Komagatake Ropeway - It takes you to the top of Mt. Komagatake. It travels the 720m long so you can enjoy beautiful view.

 

5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

You'll check in Yumoto Fujiya Hotel in Hakone.

Day 5: Hakone - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto


8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

You'll take the Kodama bullet train from Odawara to Kyoto Station. (180min.)

 

Lunch: Western-style

 

In the afternoon, you'll enjoy sightseeing in Nara. Here's the visiting places:

- It is one of the largest bronze statue in the world. The Great Buddha is National Treasure.

* Nara park

After assembling at New Miyako Hotel, you'll join a whole day tour of Kyoto-city.

You will enjoy visiting the follwong places:

* Nijo Castle (UNESCO World Heritage site)

- It was built in 1603 as Kyoto residence of the Ieyasu Tokugawa, the fast shogun of the edo government. ***On Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead.

* Kinkakuji Temple (UNESCO World Heritage site)
- It is a famous structure of Muromachi period. Kinkakuji means golden pavilion and literally it is covered by gold.

* Kyoto Imperial Palace
- It had been served as the Emperor’s palace until the capital was moved to Tokyo. ***On Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays, we'll takeyou Kitano-tenmangu Shrine instead.

 

Lunch: Japanese-style

 

After the lunch, you'll continue to enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto.

Heian Jingu Shrine
- It was built to commemorate the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto in 1895.

* Sanjusangendo Temple
- The temple is designed as a national treasure with 1,030 standing Buddhist statues in its main hall.

* Kiyomizudera Temple (UNESCO World Heritage site)
- The temple is famous for its main hall on the cliff top with a board wooden veranda and a panoramic view of Kyoto city.

Then you'll ride either the Nozomi or Hikari bullet train to Hiroshima Station from Kyoto. (110-125min)

After arriving at Hiroshima Station,  we'll depart for Miyajimaguchi by motorcoach.

Then board ferry  to Miyajima (UNESCO World Heritage site) and visit Itsukushima Shrine.

* Miyajima Island and Itsukushima Shrine (UNESCO World Heritage site)

- It is in the Island Sea and the home of Itsukushima Shrine built in 593 with its famed floating torii gate. Also It was designated as a World Heritage by UNESCO.

 

Lunch: Enjoy lunch on your own.

 

After going back to Miyajimaguchi by ship, you will enjoy visiting Hiroshima Peace and Memorial Park/Museum (UNESCO World Heritage site), drive by Atomic Bomb Dome and head to JR Hiroshima Station.

- Hiroshima is the first city suffered by an atomic bombing. The dome, registered as World Cultural Heritage, symbolizes its wishes for everlasting peace.

Enjoy your free day at your leisure until departure.

 

5:00 - 6:15 p.m.

We will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to Kyoto station by a motorcoach. Then you will ride the Nozomi bullet train to Tokyo station. (140min.)

9:00 - 10:00 p.m.

After arrival in Tokyo, we'll take you to the hotel.

Day 9: Tokyo - Narita Airport


You have free time until departure.(Departure time is announced to your hotel on the day before departure.)

A taxi driver will meet you at your hotel and take you to the Narita airport.

[Japan Combination Package]
1. This tour is a combination package made up from multiple Sunrise Tours plans.
2. An English-speaking interpreter guide or English-speaking assistant will accompany each tour from the meeting point until the tour end. Please note that in general the interpreter guide/assistant varies for each individual tour.
3. Customers with late-night arrivals or departures at Kansai International Airport may need to wait at the airport for several hours as the shared taxi service will be unavailable.
4. This is a special tour for international visitors. Please understand that residents of Japan cannot make bookings for this tour.
5. Airport pick-up & drop-off is available at Haneda Airport or Itami Airport. Please indicate your preference at the time of booking.

6. If the minimum number of participants is not met by 20 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be cancelled.

2.

[Luggage Transport Service]
Large baggage such as suit cases will be transported from hotels in Tokyo to hotels in Kyoto by truck on Day 4. (One article of standard size luggage per customer will be transported free of charge. Any additional items will incur a fee of JPY 2,200 per article, which will need to be paid on the day.) Please bring a smaller bag (backpack, etc.) for the stay at Hakone.

[Kamakura Tour (Day 2)]
1. Locations indicated on the itinerary may be changed due to traffic, operation hours, or other reasons. However, the tour will not be cancelled or refunded even in such cases. The following are possible substitutes: Hase Temple, Engaku-ji Temple, Kencho-ji Temple, Kamakuragu Treasure Hall, Sankeien Garden, Yokohama Marine Tower, Yamashita Park, or the Yokohama Landmark Tower Sky Garden
2. Itinerary order is subject to change depending on traffic, weather, and operation hours.
3. If there are more than 15 participants, the guide may hand out earphone guides in order to guide everyone more efficiently.
4. Please note that compensation of JPY 10,000 may be required in the case that an earphone guide is broken or lost by a participant.
5. Lunch may be served at a different venue depending on the hotel's operational circumstances.
6. Tours departing from Jan. 6 to Mar. 9 will not visit Kotokuin Temple and the Great Buddha statue due to construction. During this period the tour will visit Hase Temple instead.

4.

[Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour (Day 4)]
1. GPS-equipped audio guides are available in Chinese and Spanish on the bus. Please make a request when booking if you would like an audio guide. There are a limited number of audio guides available, so it may not be possible to provide one for each participant. Also, no refunds will be issued even if the audio guide is unusable due to weak signal, device issues, Wi-Fi malfunction, etc.
2. Hakone Komagatake Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary due to heavy traffic. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded in such cases.
3. If the Fuji Subaru Line to Mt. Fuji's 5th station is blocked due to road surface freezing or accidents, the tour will be taken to the highest elevation point possible. No alternative destinations are planned when the tour reaches beyond the 1st station.
When the tour has to turn back at the 1st station, or when the Fuji Subaru Line is completely blocked, the tour will visit Lake Kawaguchi. Please note that this alternative itinerary may be omitted from the tour depending on traffic conditions.
4. Mt. Fuji's 5th station is typically 10 to 15 degrees Celsius colder than Tokyo. Please bring a coat and other warm clothing on tours from autumn to spring.
5. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible due to weather conditions.
6. If the Lake Ashi Cruise or Komagatake Ropeway are not running due to inclement weather or maintenance, or as a result of road or organization circumstances, they may be omitted and replaced with one or more of the following:
Hakone En Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani, Hakone Pirate Ship, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Checkpoint, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, Itchiku Kubota Art Museum, Hakone Shrine, etc., but this will not be used as a reason to cancel the tour, and refunds will not be given for this reason. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded for such itinerary changes.
7. After sightseeing is finished, the bus may make multiple stops at hotels in the Hakone area.
8. Lunch may be a Japanese/Western style buffet in some cases.

[Nara Tour (Day 5)]
1. At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour will not enter areas requiring admission.
2. During the Gion Festival (Saki Matsuri, July 14 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
3. The tour may not visit Nara Nagomikan if it is closed or due to traffic conditions.
4. Connection to the Kyoto Night Tour or Kyoto Maiko Dinner is not possible.

6.

[Kyoto & Nara Tour (Day 6)]
1. On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. The same is true of the period before and after the public viewing of Kyoto Imperial Palace in spring and autumn, May 14 - 17 due to the Aoi Festival, year-end New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event.
2. On Jan. 25, Apr. 25, Jul. 25 and Oct. 25, 2015, and on June 25, Sept. 25 and Dec. 25, 2016, Nishi Hongan-ji Temple will be visited instead of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
3. On Tuesdays (or Wednesday if Tuesday is a national holiday) in January, July, August, and December and over the year-end New Year's holidays, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoan-ji Temple instead.
4. During the Jidai Festival on October 22, Heian Jingu Shrine is closed to the public and will be replaced in the itinerary by Chishaku-in Temple. If the Jidai Festival is postponed, we will follow suit with the itinerary change.
5. During the period before Gion Festival (Saki Matsuiri, July 14 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
6. Please note that before entering the Kyoto Imperial Palace you will be required to fill out a form with your personal information such as your full name, sex, age, and nationality. (The form will be provided on the tour day.)
7. Connection to the Kyoto Maiko Dinner and Kyoto Night Tour is available at Kyoto Hotel Okura.
8. This tour will not enter Heian Jingu Shrine's Shin-en garden.
9. Bookings for groups of 5 or more, consisting entirely of Japanese participants, may not enter the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Please inform us at the time of booking if this is the case.

1. The price shown on the site is based on the lowest hotel category, departing Sun-Tue.  Hotel upgrade option is available at additional cost. 

 2. The Day Before National Holiday Surcharge shall be applied if the staying date for each hotel is any of hte followng (The surcharge is applicable for each staying date at the hotel): Japn.10, Feb.10,. Mar.20, Apr.28-May4, Jul.17, Aug.10, Sep.18,21, Oct.9, Nov.2, 22, and Dec. 22. Please contact us for the surcharges.

3. Step Season Surcharge/ Reduction (from JPY900 to JPY15, 000) may be applied if the departure date is any of the following: Feb.28, Mar.13, Apr.10-12, Nov.6,24,27, 29. Please contact us for the surcharges.

 4. Departure Day Surcharge is applied (The following amount shall be added according to the initial departurte day)

5. Participants who purchase the reakfast plan will be required to pay an additional fee of JPY 500 for each child aged between 3 to 5 years at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. This fee will be charged regardless of whether or not breakfast is consumed, and will need to be paid directly to the hotel on the day.
