This combination package combines multiple tours. Enjoy sightseeing around Tokyo, Kyoto, Mt. Fuji and other popular sites in Japan all led by an English-speaking interpreter guide. This attractive tour also includes sightseeing in Kamakura and Hiroshima! Even people who are not used to travelling in Japan will have no problem participating worry-free.

Day 1: Arrival: Tokyo


After arrival in Narita airport, JTB staff will meet you at the customs exit and assist you in boarding a reserved taxi. Then you will go to a hotel in Tokyo.

Day 2: Tokyo - Kamakura - Tokyo


7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo. (See the detail on "Pick up".)

 

Leave Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and visit the following places by bus.

Tokyo Tower
-Climb to the main observatory 145 m (476 ft) high for a panoramic view from Japan's second tallest artificial structure.

Imperial Palace Plaza
-Make a short stop at the official residence of the Emperor of Japan, who is regarded as the highest authority in the Shinto religion as Japanese mythology states he is a direct descendant of Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun.

Asakusa Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Acade
- The arcade is a 300m approach to the temple. You can enjoy shopping and taking picture in front of a famous lantern lamp named Kaminarimon.

* Ueno & Akihabara (drive by)

 

12:30 - 12:50 p.m. 

Tour will conclude upon arrival at Tokyo Station or Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal.

 

Day 3: TOKYO - KAMAKURA - TOKYO


7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo. (See the detail on "Pick up" page.)

After assembling at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal, we'll take you to Kamakura by motor coach.

Then you'll enjoy sightseeing the following places:

Matcha Green Tea Experience at Jomyo-ji

- Enjoy some of Japan's famous powdered matcha green tea in the highly refined and tranquil atmosphere of a tearoom constructed over 400 years ago, and enjoy the view of hte temple's Japanese rock garden.

Hokoku-ji Temple

- Walk through grouds of Hokoku-ji Temple, known as the bamboo temple for its beautiful bamboo grove.

Lunch: Buddhist vegetarian cuisine is prepared with vegetarial ingredients following hte Buddhist teachings against taking life. Sit down for a lunch of authentic Buddhist vegetarian cuisine servied in a Japanese-style builing and prepared with seasonal ingrediets. 
 

*Kotoku-in Temple and the Great Buddha

- Visit Kotoku-in Temple wihich houses a towering, 13-meter-tall Buddha statue known as one of the three Great Buddha statues in Japan.

Enoshima Sightseeing

- Visit Enoshima, a getaway island popular year-round for its cool ocean breezes. Cross ove rthe 600-meter bridge that connects the island of Enoshima with the mainland and walk along Benzaiten Nakamise Street which is lined with intriguing shops bustling with customers. Afterward, take the Enoshima Escar which will whisk you easily up to Enoshima Shrine. Enjoy the beautiful ocean views from Enoshima Shrine.

5:00 - 6:40 p.m.

The tour will disembark at either Ginza or Shinjuku

 

Day 4: Tokyo - Mt.Fuji - Hakone


7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tokyo. (See the detail on "Pick up" page.)

After assembling at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal, we'll take you to Hakone by motorcoach.

You'll visit Fuji Visitor Center and Mt. Fuji 5th Station in the morning.

*Mt. Fuji - The mountain is the highest (3,776m) and most popular mountain in Japan. The volcano has not been active for more than 250 years.

 

Lunch: Japanese-style

 

After lunch, we'll take you to Kojiri and you'll enjoy the following places:

*Lake Ashi Cruise - The lake is a typical caldera lake formed between the outer crater ridge and inner volcanoes. It is a cruise around the beautiful lake.

*Mt. Komagatake Ropeway - It takes you to the top of Mt. Komagatake. It travels the 720m long so you can enjoy beautiful view.

 

5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

You'll check in Yumoto Fujiya Hotel in Hakone.

Day 5: Hakone - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto


8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

You'll take the Kodama bullet train from Odawara to Kyoto Station. (180min.)

 

Lunch: Western-style

 

In the afternoon, you'll enjoy sightseeing in Nara. Here's the visiting places:

- It is one of the largest bronze statue in the world. The Great Buddha is National Treasure.

* Nara park

You'll take the Kodama bullet train from Odawara to Kyoto Station. (180min.)

After assembling at New Miyako Hotel, you'll join a whole day tour of Kyoto-city.

You will enjoy visiting the follwong places:

* Nijo Castle (UNESCO World Heritage site)

- It was built in 1603 as Kyoto residence of the Ieyasu Tokugawa, the fast shogun of the edo government. ***On Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead.

* Kinkakuji Temple (UNESCO World Heritage site)
- It is a famous structure of Muromachi period. Kinkakuji means golden pavilion and literally it is covered by gold.

* Kyoto Imperial Palace
- It had been served as the Emperor’s palace until the capital was moved to Tokyo. ***On Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays, we'll takeyou Kitano-tenmangu Shrine instead.

 

Lunch: Japanese-style

 

After the lunch, you'll continue to enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto.

Heian Jingu Shrine
- It was built to commemorate the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto in 1895.

* Sanjusangendo Temple
- The temple is designed as a national treasure with 1,030 standing Buddhist statues in its main hall.

* Kiyomizudera Temple (UNESCO World Heritage site)
- The temple is famous for its main hall on the cliff top with a board wooden veranda and a panoramic view of Kyoto city.

You'll arrive back at hotel in Kyoto.

After assembling at New Miyako Hotel, you'll join a whole day tour of Kyoto-city.

You will enjoy visiting the follwong places:

* Nijo Castle (UNESCO World Heritage site)

Then you'll ride either the Nozomi or Hikari bullet train to Hiroshima Station from Kyoto. (110-125min)

After arriving at Hiroshima Station,  we'll depart for Miyajimaguchi by motorcoach.

Then board ferry  to Miyajima (UNESCO World Heritage site) and visit Itsukushima Shrine.

* Miyajima Island and Itsukushima Shrine (UNESCO World Heritage site)

- It is in the Island Sea and the home of Itsukushima Shrine built in 593 with its famed floating torii gate. Also It was designated as a World Heritage by UNESCO.

 

Lunch: Enjoy lunch on your own.

 

After going back to Miyajimaguchi by ship, you will enjoy visiting Hiroshima Peace and Memorial Park/Museum (UNESCO World Heritage site), drive by Atomic Bomb Dome and head to JR Hiroshima Station.

- Hiroshima is the first city suffered by an atomic bombing. The dome, registered as World Cultural Heritage, symbolizes its wishes for everlasting peace.

Baggage

Included for up to one piece of baggage from Tokyo to Kyoto on Day 4 and Kyoto to Tokyo on Day 8. Additional baggage will incur a fee of JPY2,200 per item. Light compact baggage is recommended overnight stays in Hakone on Day4.

< Remarks of Sunrise Combination Tour >

-Sunrise Combination Tour is a combination of several tours offered by Sunrise Tours. The structure of each component tour is mentioned on the tour page.

-An English-speaking guide or assistant assigned to each tour will take care of participants from the point of assembly to the point of disbandment. Please note that the accompanying guide or assistant may change on a daily basis and that they are not staying at the hotel with the tour group.

-If your departure flight leaves from Kansai Airport at midnight, pariticipants may have to wait several hours at the airport after arriving in a bench-seated van.

-Extending your length of stay while pariticipating on the tour is not possible. Please call us for an extension if you play to extend your stay in Tokyo or Kyoto.

-Please review the remarks for each tour mentioned on the tour page.

-This tour is offered to travelers from overseas only.

-Tour can be started/ended at Haneda or Itami Airport at same price. Please request upon reservation.

< Remarks of Kamakura, Yokohama & Tokyo Bay Drive 1-Day Bus Tour >

-Locations indicatedin the itinerary may be omitted due to traffic and operation hours.  However, the tour will not be canceled or refunded even in such cases.  The following are possible substitutes:  Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kenchoji Temple, Kamakuraguu Treasure Hall, Tokohama Marine Tower & Yamashita Park, or Sky Garden of the Landmark Tower Yokohama.

-Itinerary order is subject to change depending on traffic, weather, ahnd operation hours.

-Note arrival times may be delayed due to traffic conditions as this tour will travel by bus.

-Earphone devices may be provided if there are over 15 particiants in order to directly hear the tour guide.

-A fine of JPY 10,000 may be charged if earphones are lost or damaged.

< Remarks of Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour >

-Please note that the tour may not visit the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway in cases of heavy traffic.  The tour will not be cancelled, and no refunds will be provided in such cases.  In addition, the arrival time may also be delayed.  (The estimated arrival time is between 20:00-22:00)

-If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic, the visit to Fuji Visitor Center may be skipped.

-If the roadway to Mt. Fuji’s 5th station should be blocked due to road surface freezing, the tour would be taken to the highest elevation point possible.

-As temperatures drop significantly on Mt. Fuji, it is highly recommended to bring an overcoat or other warm clothing from fall to spring.

-The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if the full view of Mt. Fuji is not visible due to weather conditions.

-The Komagatake Ropeway or Lake Ashi cruise may be omitted or substituted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns.  However the tour will not be cancelled or refunded even in such cases.  If either or both are omitted the following are the alternative choices; Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Check Point, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise, pirate boat on Lake Ashi, Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani Valley, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, and Itchiku Kubota Art Museum.

-Please apply for GPS audio guide at the time of reservation.  The number of GPS audio guide is limited, so they may not be available to each of you.

-The tour guide may not accompany back to Tokyo from Odawara Station.  In this case, the manner of returning will be informed in advance.

-Note the bus may make multiple stops at hotels in the Hakone area after sightseeing concludes.

< Remarks of Kyoto & Nara Tour >

-Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays and the year end.  During these dates, the tour will visit Kitano-tenmangu Shrine instead.  The same is true of the period before and after the public viewing of the Kyoto Imperial Palace in April and October, May 14 to 17 due to the Aoi Festival, as well as when there is an Imperial Household event. 

-Nishi Honganji Temple will be visited on jan.25, Apr.25, Jul.25 and Oct.25 instead of Kitano-tenmangu Shrine.

-Nijo Castle is closed on every Tuesday in January, July, August, December and the year end.  During these dates, the tour will visit Ryoanji Temple instead.

-Before entering Kyoto Imperial Palace, it is required to complete a form indicating full name, nationality, gender, and age.

-Areas requiring admission fees at Kasuga Taisha Shrine will not be visited.

-Dropp-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto, and Hotel Monterey Kyoto cannot be provided during Gion Festival (July 14th-16th) due to traffic restrictions.

-The tour may not visit Nara Nagomikan if it is closed or due to traffic conditions.

-Connections to Kyoto Night Tour and Kyoto Maiko Dinner are not possible due to time constraints.

-According to the number of participants on Day 7, public transportation may be used between Hiroshima and Miyajima.
