Japan’s first lavender was planted 1948 in Hokkaido and it grows purple buds in late June and early July. Enjoy beauftiful deeper purple lavender fields drive arong hilly landscape Biei Hills. Visit Asahikawa Ramen Village, Takasago Sake Brewery, Kamikawa Ice Pavilion in Asahikawa.

Day 1: Jul. 3 (Wed) Chitose Airport


After arrival at Chitose Airport, you'll transfer to the hotel on your own. Hotel Complementary Shuttle is available.

Day 2: Jul. 4 (Thu) Chitose - Asahikawa - Sounkyo Onsen


Breakfast at the hotel.

9:00 a.m.

Depart Chitose with an English speaking guide by chartered motor coach.

You'll make a short stop at Sunakawa Highway Oasis on the way to Asahikawa. 

Then we will make a stop at Asahikawa Ramen Village, and you can have lunch on your own.

After lunch, you'll continue to visit the following places.

*Takasago Sake Brewey

*Kamikawa Ice Pavilion - Experience below zero degree surrounded by ice

*Ginga Ryusei waterfalls - Enjoy a fantastic view of the waterfalls

 

5:00 p.m. You'll arrive at the hotel and check in.

6:30 p.m. Dinner - Japanese style dinner at the hotel

 

Hotel: Sounkyo Choyotei Resort (Onsen Hotel / Japanese or Western room)

Day 3: Jul. 5 (Fri) Sounkyo Onsen - Furano - Tomamu


Breakfast at  the hotel

9:00 a.m. You'll enjoy visiting Blue River and Pond.

12:00 p.m. Buffet Lunch at Hotel Park Hills

After lunch, we'll enjoy sightseeing the following places:

*Biei Hills (drive through) - Biei is known for their pleasant and picturesque rural landscapes. The best time to visit is Jult and August, when many lavender fields are in bloom.

*Farm Tomita - One of the best sports to view the levender in Furano and Biei is Farm Tomita, whose lavender and flower fields with the Daisetsuzan and Tokachi mountain ranges as backdrop are spectacular.

 

5:00 p.m. You'll check in your hotel.

6:30 p.m. Dinner - Buffet style dinner at the hotel

Hotel: Hotel Hoshino Resort Tomamu (Western)

Day 4: Jul. 6 (Sat) Tomamu - Sapporo


Breakfast at the hotel

9:00 a.m. We'll stop by *Sapporo Factory - A large, very pleasant shopping mall on the grounds of a former beer factory.

Lunch on your own.

After lunch, we'll visit the following places:

*Okurayama Ski Jumping Stadium - The site of winter Olympic's ski jump/ride ski lift to the top of the hill. We will take you to the top. Enjoy the whole Sapporo city from there.

*Drive by land marks of the city - Odori Park, Hokkaido Old Government Building and Clock Tower.

4:00 p.m. You'll arrive at the hotel and check in.

Day 5: Jul. 7 (Sun) Sapporo


Breakfast at the hotel.

Full day free at leisure.

Enjoy shopping and dining, one-day adventure in the city.

Day 6: Jul. 8 (Mon) Sapporo - Otaru

9:00 a.m. You'll enjoy visiting the following places:

*Nikka Whiskey Factory - Try a free sample! The factory is a producer of Japanese whiskey located in Hokkaido. The founder, Masataka Taketsuru, traveled to Scotland in 1918 to learn the process of distilling Scotch whiskey first-hand. In 1920 he joined a Japanese whiskey company before starting Nikka in 1934.

*Cherry Picking

*Otaru Park and stroll Otaru Town - Otaru is a herbor city, half an hour northwest of Sapporo by train. Its beautiful canal area and interesting herring mansion make Otaru a pleasant one day trip from Sapporo or a nice stop enroute to or from the Shakotan Peninsula.

 

Lunch on your own. (We suggest you try "Kaiten Sushi"!)

After lunch, you'll visit Kamaei (a famous "Kamaboko" factory).

Then you'll check in the hotel and enjoy free time to stroll Otaru Canal.

Day 7: Jul. 9 (Tue) Otaru - Shiraoi - Noboribetsu

8:30 a.m. Enjoy visiting the following places:

*Lake Shikotsu - It is a caldera lake, which was formed from collapses in the earth after volcanic activity.

*Shiraoi Ainu Porotokotan (Ainu Village called Porotokotan) - It is one of Hokkaido's better Ainu Museums. Ainu culture and lifestyle is shown in an outdoor reproduction of a small Ainu village and inside a conventional museum building.

12:30 p.m. Lunch at Shiraoi Kani Goten (Salmon Teppanyaki)

2:30 p.m. After lunch, you'll continue to visiti the following places:

*Jigokudani - Jikokudani or "Hell Valley" is a spectacular, appropriately named valley, which displays hot steam vents, sulfurous streams and other volcanic activity. It's one source of Noboribetsu's hot spring water.

*Noboribetsu Bear Farm

 

5:00 p.m. You'll arrive and check-in at the hotel.

6:00 p.m. Dinner - Buffet style dinner at the hotel.

 

Hotel - Noboribetsu Sekisuitei or similar (Onsen Hotel / Japanese or Western)

Day 8: Jul. 10 (Wed) Noboribetsu


Breakfast at the hotel.

Tour ends at Noboribetsu and you'll transfer to Chitose Airport individually.

* Package price does not include International/Domestic Airport and security taxes.
* Price/Schedule is subject to change by Vendor.
* Minimum 15 people is required to guarantee the departure.
* Any deviation from the original package routing plan will incur fare differences for each person. Please ask us the details.
 
We strongly advise that tour participants purchase the Optional Travel Insurance plans. Please ask one of our travel consultants for more information.

 

* Please be aware that the Land Only designation includes hotels/meals/and sightseeing only. International and domestic air flights as well as transportation to/from airports are not included.

2.

Participation

 
* For the benefit of everyone in your tour group, JTB USA, Inc reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant, and to remove from the tour any participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the other participants.
* We require a minimum of 15 participants to guarantee a tour with an escort.
JTB USA, Inc will notify participants of any changes 66 days prior to departure.
We regret that our escorted tours will operate only when booked by a sufficient number of participants. We reserve the right to cancel any departure date that has insufficient demand.  
 
** There may be a possibility to operate tours with less than 15 participants. 
     However, it may require changes from each original tour itinerary and price.

3.

Deposit and Final Payment

 
* A $300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit per person will be required at the time of booking. 
* The remaining balance is due 66 days prior to the departure. 
* If reservation is made less than 66 days prior to the departure, a full payment is due at the time of booking. 
 
* If remaining balance of payment is not paid within the above-required period of time, JTB USA, Inc reserves the right to cancel reservations.

4.

Cancellations/Changes

 
* In case of voluntary cancellation, the deposit remains non-refundable. 
* Cancellation/deviation/change due to natural disaster, weather, war, civil unrest and order of government or immigration regulations applies regular rules below. JTB USA, Inc will make possible efforts to minimize the penalty. 
* If situations occur during the trip, any extra cost for additional arrangements will be the individual tour participant's responsibility

-Up to 66 days prior to the departure           $300 deposit

-65 – 32 days prior to the departure             30% of the total tour fee

-31 – 16 days prior to the departure             50% of the total tour fee

-Within 15 days prior to the departure          100% of the total tour fee

* Other service fee may be charged for result in the cancellation up to 8 days prior to departure.

5.

Responsibility

 
The tour participant agrees that neither JTB USA, Inc nor its affiliates shall be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss) or expense occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier providing services, or any insurer or insurance administrator under the Travel Protection Plan, or of any other person, or any other situations beyond the control of JTB USA, Inc, including weather, natural disaster, war, civil unrest, and order of government or immigration regulations.
