The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of Japan's largest winter events. Enjoy to see the hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures. Hokkaido has a lot more to offer to visitors than its scenery. You can also try various activities to communicate with nature. Will visit Sapporo, Lake Shikotsu, Sounkyo Onsen, Abashiri and Kushiro.

Day 1: Feb.04 (Tue) Arrival at Chitose

After arrival at Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, you will transfer to your hotel individually. Your hotel will be ANA Crowne Plaza or the similar one.

Day 2: Feb.05(Wed) Chitose-Lake Shikotsu-Shiraoi-Sapporo

You will have breakfast at your hotel.

8:45 a.m.
We will depart for Sapporo via Lake Shikotsu by a chartered motor coach.

Stop at Aeon Chitose ” for snow shoe shopping.

* Chitose Shikotsuko Hyoto Matsuri (Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival)

You will have lunch at Kani Goten “Salmon Teppanyaki”.

After the lunch, we will visit Shiraoi Ainu Village "Porotokotan".

* Shiraoi Ainu Village “Porotokotan
- The Shiraoi Ainu Museum, also called Porotokotan, is one of Hokkaido's best Ainu Museums. Ainu culture and lifestyle are shown in an outdoor reproduction of a small Ainu village and inside a conventional museum building. Several performances, such as traditional Ainu dances, are held throughout the day.

Then we will proceed to your hotel in Sapporo. Your hotel will be Century Royal Hotel or the similar one.

Day 3: Feb.06(Thu) Sapporo

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

The day will be a free day at your leisure, so enjoy your one-day excursion. (You can enjoy main snow festival site, shopping, or eating local food.)
Our tour escort will be there to help you making arrangements or take you to places depending on majority’s need.

Your hotel will be Century Royal Hotel or the similar one.

Day 4: Feb.07(Fri) Sapporo-Asahikawa-Sounkyo

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

8:50 a.m.
We will depart for sightseeing by a chartered motor coach.

* Sunakawa Highway Oasis for shopping

* Takasago Sake Brewery
- A high quality sake backed by 330 years of tradition-Otokoyama-Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island,has ideal climate and water conditions needed to make superior sake. Otokoyama brews high quality sake on the island.

You will have lunch on your own at Asahikawa Ramen Village.

After the lunch, proceed to Sounkyo.

* Sounkyo Onsen
- Sounkyo is a touristy hot spring resort in a narrow valley of Daisetsuzan National Park with a pleasant village center, nice baths and beautiful waterfalls. It is also a good base for walks and hiking tours into the national park.

After we will transfer you to your hotel in Sounkyo, you will have dinner at the hotel. You can visit Sounkyo Ice Festival site at night -Illumination until 10pm.

Your hotel will be Sounkyo Choyotei Resort Hotel (Western Room).

Day 5: Feb.08(Sat) Sounkyo-Abashiri

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

8:00 a.m.
We will depart for sightseeing by a chartered motor coach. On our way to Abashiri, you will drive by Ginga Ryusei Waterfall.

* Ginga Ryusei Water Fall (drive by)
- The word “Ginga” means “the Milky Way” and the word “Ryusei” means “a shooting star.”  This waterfall resembles the Milky Way and shooting star. Therefore, that is how this waterfall got its name.

After arrival in Abashiri, enjoy Buffet Lunch at Abashiri central Hotel.

  Then enjoy the following places.

* Okhotsuk Ryu-hyo Kan

* Abashiri Snow Event “Attaka Abashiri”

We will transfer you to your hotel in Abashiri, and you have Japanese dinner at the hotel. Your hotel will be Abashiri Koso Hotel(Japanese Room with beds).

Day 6: Feb.09(Sun) Abashiri-Kushiro

You will have breakfast at the hotel.


Then we will depart for sightseeing by a chartered motor coach. You will enjoy the following thing.

Experience Ice Breaker Cruise by “Aurora”

Visit Lake Tofutsu to see beautiful site of swans.

* Lake Tofutsu
- Lake Tofutsu (Tofutsu-ko), stretching between Abashiri and Koshimizucho, Hokkaido, is famous as a spot where more than 2,000 whooper swans migrate to from Siberia in winter, but it is also a good place for observing many other kinds of wild birds throughout the year. Its name means "a lake where birds are always there" in the Ainu language.

Stop by a property where you can see Japanese red crowned crane.

You will have lunch on your own.

Then we will proceed to Kushiro. On the way, we will stop by Kushiro Washo market.


* Visit Kushiro Washo Market

We will transfer you to your hotel in Kushiro. Your hotel will be ANA Hotel Kushiro.

Day 7: Feb.10(Mon) Kushiro

You will have breakfast at the hotel. Then the tour will end here.


6 nights hotel accommodations in Chitose, Sapporo, Sounkyo, Abashiri and Kushiro./Sightseeing to Lake Shikotsu, Sapporo, Asahikawa, Sounkyo, Abashiri and Kushiro.


Daily breakfast, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners are included.

Any international and Japan domestic airfare and Transfer to/from airport are NOT included.

* A $300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit per person will be required at the time of booking.
* The remaining balance is due 66 days prior to the departure.
* If reservation is made less than 66 days prior to the departure, a full payment is due at the time of booking.
* If remaining balance of payment is not paid within the above-required period of time, JTB USA, Inc reserves the right to cancel reservations.



* In case of voluntary cancellation, the deposit remains non-refundable.
* Cancellation/deviation/change due to natural disaster, weather, war, civil unrest and order of government or immigration regulations applies regular rules below. JTB USA, Inc will make possible efforts to minimize the penalty.
* Changes up to 66 days prior to the departure can be accepted with a applicable fee based on the availability.



For the benefit of everyone in your tour group, JTB USA, Inc reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant, and to remove from the tour any participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the other participants.

We require a minimum of 15 participants to guarantee a tour with an escort.JTB USA, Inc will notify participants of any changes 66 days prior to departure.

We regret that our escorted tours will operate only when booked by a sufficient number of participants. We reserve the right to cancel any departure date that has insufficient demand. 

* There may be a possibility to operate tours with less than 15 participants. However, it may require changes from each original tour itinerary and price.



The tour participant agrees that neither JTB USA, Inc nor its affiliates shall be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss) or expense occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier providing services, or any insurer or insurance administrator under the Travel Protection Plan, or of any other person, or any other situations beyond the control of JTB USA, Inc, including weather, natural disaster, war, civil unrest, and order of government or immigration regulations.
