GUARANTEED DEPARTURE!! The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of Japan's largest winter events. Enjoy to see the hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures. Hokkaido has a lot more to offer to visitors than its scenery. You can also try various activities to communicate with nature. Will visit Sapporo, Lake Shikotsu, Sounkyo Onsen, Abashiri and Kushiro.

Day 1: Feb.05 (Thu) Arrival at Chitose

After arrival at Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, you will transfer to your hotel individually. 


Accommodations: Air Terminal Hotel or similar

Day 2: Feb.06(Fri) Chitose - Lake Shikotsu - Shiraoi - Sapporo

You will have breakfast at your hotel.

Depart for Sapporo via Lake Shikotsu with an English speaking guide by a chartered motor coach.

You will visit and enjoy the following places;

* Chitose Shikotsuko Hyoto Matsuri (Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival)

You will have lunch at Kani Goten “Salmon Teppanyaki”.


After the lunch, we will visit Shiraoi Ainu Village "Porotokotan".

* Shiraoi Ainu Village “Porotokotan
- The Shiraoi Ainu Museum, also called Porotokotan, is one of Hokkaido's best Ainu Museums. Ainu culture and lifestyle are shown in an outdoor reproduction of a small Ainu village and inside a conventional museum building. Several performances, such as traditional Ainu dances, are held throughout the day.

Then we will proceed to your hotel in Sapporo.  Drive around city center for Sapporo land mark - Oodori Park, Clock Tower and Susukino.

5:00  p.m.

Arrive at hotel.

Dinner on own, and enjoy Snow Festival in the evening on your free time.

Day 3: Feb.07(Sat) Sapporo

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

The day will be a free day at your leisure, so enjoy your one-day excursion. (You can enjoy main snow festival site, shopping, or eating local food.)
Our tour escort can guide you to Otaru City, 100yen store and other places in Sapporo by using public transportation depending on majority’s needs.

Day 4: Feb.08(Sun) Sapporo - Asahikawa - Sounkyo

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

Depart for sightseeing with an English speaking guide by chartered motor coach.

You will visit and enjoy the following places;

* Sunakawa Highway Oasis for shopping

* Takasago Sake Brewery
- A high quality sake backed by 330 years of tradition-Otokoyama-Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island,has ideal climate and water conditions needed to make superior sake. Otokoyama brews high quality sake on the island.

You will have lunch on your own at Asahikawa Ramen Village.

After the lunch, proceed to Sounkyo.

* Sounkyo Onsen
- Sounkyo is a touristy hot spring resort in a narrow valley of Daisetsuzan National Park with a pleasant village center, nice baths and beautiful waterfalls. It is also a good base for walks and hiking tours into the national park.

After we will transfer you to your hotel in Sounkyo, you will have dinner at the hotel. You can visit Sounkyo Ice Festival site at night -Illumination until 10pm.


Accommodations: Sounkyo Choyotei (Onsen Available) or similar

Day 5: Feb.09(Mon) Sounkyo - Abashiri

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

Depart for sightseeing with an English speaking guide by chartered motor coach.

Proceed to Abashiri.


Drive by Ginga Ryusei Water Fall                                                                                                             -The word “Ginga” means “the Milky Way” and the word “Ryusei” means “a shooting star.  This waterfall resembles the Milky Way and shooting star. Therefore, that is how this waterfall got its name.

Arrive in Abashiri.                                                                                                                                  You will have lunch at local restaurant (seafood menu).

After lunch, you will visit and enjoy the following places;

- Ohotsuku Ryu-hyo Kan

Abashiri Ohotsuku Drift Ice Festival

5:00 p.m.      Arrive at the hotel.

6:00 p.m.     Dinner at the hotel (Japanese set menu)

Day 6: Feb.10(Tue) Abashiri - Kushiro

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

Depart for sightseeing with an English speaking guide by chartered motor coach. You will enjoy the following thing.

Experience Ice Breaker Cruise by “Aurora”

Visit Lake Tofutsu to see beautiful site of swans.

Lake Tofutsu
- Lake Tofutsu (Tofutsu-ko), stretching between Abashiri and Koshimizucho, Hokkaido, is famous as a spot where more than 2,000 whooper swans migrate to from Siberia in winter, but it is also a good place for observing many other kinds of wild birds throughout the year. Its name means "a lake where birds are always there" in the Ainu language.

Stop by a property where you can see Japanese red crowned crane.

You will have lunch on your own. (menu T.B.A.)


Then we will proceed to Kushiro. 

Arrive at the hotel.

Day 7: Feb.11(Wed) Kushiro

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

Rooms are available until regular check-out time.

* A $300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit per person will be required at the time of booking.
* The remaining balance is due 66 days prior to the departure.
* If reservation is made less than 66 days prior to the departure, a full payment is due at the time of booking.
* If remaining balance of payment is not paid within the above-required period of time, JTB USA, Inc reserves the right to cancel reservations.



* In case of voluntary cancellation, the deposit remains non-refundable.
* Cancellation/deviation/change due to natural disaster, weather, war, civil unrest and order of government or immigration regulations applies regular rules below. JTB USA, Inc will make possible efforts to minimize the penalty.

The tour participant agrees that neither JTB USA, Inc nor its affiliates shall be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death, and property loss) or expense occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier providing services, or any insurer or insurance administrator under the Travel Protection Plan, or of any other person, or any other situations beyond the control of JTB USA, Inc, including weather, natural disaster, war, civil unrest, and order of government or immigration regulations.
