Tackle Mt. Fuji's challenging slopes in this summer-only, English-guided tour! Begin your climb in the afternoon, grab a quick rest at an 7th station mountain hut, then arrive at Mt. Fuji's peak in time to see the sunrise! Experience Japan's national symbol up close by climbing from Mt. Fuji's 5th station to its peak, where you'll see the sun rise over Japan. You'll begin your climb shortly after arriving at Mt. Fuji's 5th station by bus from Tokyo. This tour also includes a chance to rest at one of the mountainside huts at the 7th station before departing for the final leg of your journey to the top! The climb to the top will be well worth it for the chance to see the sunrise from Japan's highest mountain.

Day 1: Shinjuku - Mt. Fuji

7:10 a.m.

Assemble at Shinjuku's Keio Plaza Hotel at the Sunrise Tours sign in front of the main building 3rd floor Guest Relations desk. Walk from Keio Plaza Hotel to the Shinjuku Gijido-dori Avenue Koukashita Parking Area and board the motorcoach to Mt. Fuji.

 
Coach departs for Mt. Fuji via the Chuo Expressway and Fuji Subaru Line.

11:30 a.m.

Arrive at Mt. Fuji Lake Kawaguchi 5th station (Altitude: 2,304m). After arrival, you will have ree time for lunch on your own and get ready to climb Mt. Fuji.

1:00 p.m.

Leave Mt. Fuji 5th station and begin hike to the peak via the Kawaguchiko-Yoshidaguchi ascending route. (approx. 4hour)

5:00 p.m.

Arrive at the 7th station (Elevation : 2,910 m). Enjoy dinner and short  nap at Toyokan lodge. Vegetarian or other options not available.

10:00 p.m.

Depart Toyokan lodge to continue the ascent. You will receive your breakfast to carry with you to the summit before leaving the lodge.

Day 2: Mt. Fuji - Shinjuku


Climb Mt. Fuji for approx. 5 hours

3:00 a.m.

Arrive at the summit. Watch the sunrise, and eat breakfast.  Circle the rimi of Mt. Fuji's crater (ohachi-meguri)  (takes about 90 min.).

5:00 a.m.

Leave the summit via Kawaguchiko-Yoshidaguchi descending route. (roughly 4hours).

 


Arrive back to Mt. Fuji Lake Kawaguchi 5th station. Free time to rest.

11:30 a.m.

Depart the 5th station by coach for Lake Yamanaka Hot Springs, Beni Fuji no Yu.

12:30 p.m.

After arriving at Beni Fuji no Yu, you are free to enjoy the spa facilities. You may also eat lunch here on your own.

3:00 p.m.

Depart Beni Fuji no Yu for Tokyo.

6:00 -7:00 p.m.

Tour disbands upon returning to Shinjuku station.

With the exception of the departure time from Shinjuku on Day 1, all times are approximate and may vary depending on conditions like traffic and climbing speed of the group.

Baggage

Customers will be responsible for carrying their own belongings. Please bring only the items necessary to climb the mountain when you join this tour. * You cannot leave your belongings in the bus during the duration of the tour. You may leave your belongings behind at the Lake Kawaguchi 5th Station Rest House for free at your own risk. Lake Kawaguchi 5th Station Rest House and Sunrise Tours will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen belongings.

Assembly Point

Please be ready the Keio Plaza Hotel, Main Building 3rd Floor in front of the Guest Relations Desk in front of the Sunrise Tours Sign at 7:00 a.m. * As we will call you with more details regarding the assembly point the day before the tour, please inform us of your contact information at hotel of stay the night before your tour.


1.

Please be aware that the altitude at the 5th station is approx. 2300m, approx. 3000m at the Toyokan lodge at the 7th station, and approx. 3500m at the Mt. Fuji Peak. The average temperature at the peak oftern dips below 5c, which is almost a 15c difference than that  of  the Mt. Fuji 5th station. Please prepare and dress accordingly for the cold. Please contact your agent for what to bring and wear on the Mt. Fuji Climb.

As the air at the top of Mt. Fuji is thin, there is a chance you may be subject t o mountain sickness. Please make sure you get enogh sleep the night before the tour and take care of your health before joining in on this activity.

 

3.

As the purpose of this course is to see the sunrise from Mt. Fuji, on the first day, all tour participants will climb to the lodge located above the 7th station. It may not be possible to see the sunrise from the top of Mt. Fuji due to complications such as bad weather conditions or delays caused by heaby traffic. There will be no refunds for this  reason.

4.

As a general rule, we will still run this tour when it is raining on the mountain. However, the tour may be cancelled at any time if the tour guide or the climbing guide determines that the weather conditions are unfit or  unsafe for mountain climbing. In addition, the tour itinerary, route, and scheduled arrival time may change due to weather and/or heaby traffic.

5.

An English-speaking guide will accommpany the tour for the entire tour schedule. A climbing guide (Japanese -speaking only) will join the group from the Mt. Fuji's 5th station and remain with the group on the journey up the summit and back to the 5th station.

6.

The tour group will be combined with a Japanese tour group. The English-speaking guide will attend to the Sunrise Tour group during the tour.

7.

For safety reasons, all tour participants are required to submit their names, addresses, and emergecy contact information on the first day of the tour.

8.

If the customer is required to use a lodge other than the Toyokan due to their own circumstance, the cost of the lodge will be the responsibility of the customer.

9.

The sleeping area at the Toyokan lodge is mixed-genger with bunk beds. The space allotted to each participant is typically about 1.6 square meters, so please be aware that you may not be able t osleep comfortably. There are no bathing facilities at the lodge. Toilets are located outside the lodge (western-style toilets are not available) and are not flushable.

10.

If you arriva at the Mt. Fuji 5th station later than the departure time (approx. 11:30am, we will announce the departure time again on the 2nd day) and miss the bus returning to Tokyo, you will be responsible for providing your own trasnportation.

11.

Vegetarian menu options are not available for dinner on the 1st night nor breakfast on the 2nd day. Tour participants with special food requirements should prepare their own meals for when climbing the mountain.

12.

Children 5years or younger cannot participate in this tour. Tour participants age 6-15 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 20 years or older. Tour participants between the ages of 16-19 mayh join the tour by themselves provided they submit a permission slip from parent or guardian.

13.

This tour does not include mountain climbing insurance. Mountain climbing insurance is not available to non-Japanese nationals. We recommend that customer purchase travel insurance before leaving their countries.

14.

Please inform us of your place of accommodation and contact information the day before your tour when making your reservation.

15.

If minimum number of participants required is not reached 21days before, the tour may be canceled.

16.

The Mount Fuji Preservation contribution (JPY 1,000) is not included in the tour price. Participants may make a contribution at Mt. Fuji on a voluntary basis.

17.

According to Yamanashi prefecture ordinance, persons with tatoos are prohibited from bathing in hot springs. Customers with tatoos are unable to bathe at Benifuji-no-Yu.
